[...] For Puerto Vallarta, a Mexican restaurant, we planned a grand opening event at their new location in Orange, CT. Before the actual event we carried out a marketing and PR campaign. Our major marketing tactics included social media, press releases, and a segment with the owner of the restaurant on NBC Connecticut. For the event itself 99.1 PLR agreed to host their mostly Wig Out at the new Puerto Vallarta location. This was definitely a highlight as Mike Lapitino and the Wigmaster have quite the cult following in the area. We felt that having 99.1 PLR at the event drew a significant crowd while providing a fun social environment for guests. Additionally, Puerto Vallarta had free food as well as $3 margaritas and $2 draft beers. Hi Eric- Call Bob anytime at 203-926-0823. He has a studio in Shelton, but will travel anywhere throughout Connecticut to meet you for an appointment. His men’s clothing is amazing- we highly recommend it!

Facebook is definitely the new promotion tool. Are there any companies that have an especially unique Facebook? If you had to pick between Facebook and Twitter which is most effective at promoting a business?

Well-written article. Too often people outside of the field confuse advertising, marketing, and public relations as one in the same. I liked your discussion of promoting the positive image of a company. With a tight economy most companies are focused on the immediate bottom line and don’t think about their long term impact on a community.

Congratulations on the award. Starting a business from nothing is no small achievement. I like the inspirational quote from your mom. As a business owner it is important to always look towards the future and keep moving no matter what setbacks you may encounter. I’m also impressed with all of your charity work!
